Q: Do ford rangers with a v-6 engine possible come with a 5 speed manual transmission?
My son has a 1995 ford ranger 4 cyl engine with a 5 speed manual transmission and wanted to put it either a v-6 engine or find a ford ranger with a v-6 manual transmission, so do ford rangers with v-6 engines come with manual transmissions?

A: NOPE

Q: EFI Ford Rangers what year did they start?
Easy 10pts for most complete answer :

In what year did Ford start putting EFI in their 4-cylinder Rangers ?

Thanks

A: it would appear 1987 as 1986 is the last year for carb model reference for the ranger. this applied to the 2.0 and 2.3 liter engines.

Q: Ford Rangers?
ok so i took my boyfriends truck around the parking lot at lunch today, while he was gone and now it won’t shift out of second, WHAT’S WRONG WITH IT? and did i do it

A: Park the Truck back where it was and play like you not know what could have happened. Start asking him; “What did you do, that may have messed it up”?
AND, after it sit, it may be OK.

Q: How to extend ford rangers wheels out the sides.?
What can i do to make my ford ranger front wheels extend out the sides.

A: wheel spacers with longer studs or studded spacers is one way, positive offset rims would be best choice (no spacers or stud changes to do that) .
It would be best to check the local laws for how much open wheel is allowed past the wheel well area .You may be required to cover the distance with wheel well flares.
Positive offset rims allow the same tires to be used, the center of the rim is mounted more to the rear or deeper in the rim to bring the tire & rim further out .
The use of these will change your turning radius in front and may cause body contact back of wheel near door and fender or nearer to frame horn at front, bumper lower spoiler, and Wheel well areas .
It has the same effect as wider wheels and tires do but at a lesser cost .

Q: Can I cut my 94 ford rangers hydraulic line?
I’m in the process of replacing my 94 ford ranger clutch. I have the transmission laying on the ground but i cant get the hydraulic line off, It’s very corroded on.

Is the Line under pressure? is it safe to cut?

A: The line is only under pressure when the clutch pedal is depressed.
Can’t you just remove the slave cylinder?

Q: What do people think about the Ford Rangers?
I am looking in to buying a Ford Ranger the model’s from 2006-2008. What do you think about them..any good? I will need it more for just road driving. And a little towing not much. So is it worth the money?

A: I work at a ford dealership and right now the ranger is our top seller. The ranger is being discontinued at the end of the model year, but in 2010 you will be able to get the world ranger which is a 4 door version. The ranger is definately worth your money. They are extremely reliable. We hardly see any in for repairs.

Q: what year ford rangers have the same engines?
I have a 1984 ford ranger, what year engines will fit it?

A: 2.0 L OHC I4
2.2 L Perkins 4.135 Diesel I4
2.3 L OHC I4
2.3 L Mitsubishi 4D55 Turbodiesel I4
2.8 L Cologne V6
2.9 L Cologne V6

The best engine is the 2.3 OHC with a turbocharger from the 84-88 Thunderbird.. these can modded up to make over 300 hp..

Q: Do new Ford Rangers do as good on gas as older Rangers?
My old 1995 Ford Ranger with over 200,000 miles and a 4 cyl 2.3 liter engine gets around 25-27 mpg. I ask because it has 112 horsepower while newer 4 cyl Rangers have a slightly larger 2.3 liter engine at 143 horsepower.

I’m a freak when it comes to saving at the pump, but I can’t stand driving little 4 cyl cars.

A: It sounds like you are doing pretty good already. I have got a 1988 Ford Ranger V6 2.9L and I get 18-21 mpg. I wish I could get your gas mileage.

Q: I just recently seen the crew cab Ford Rangers offered overseas and was blown away(Please read details)?
I just recently seen the new crew cab Ford Rangers offered overseas and was blown away. They look like a kick a** truck and I really like the new design. Does anyone know why Ford isn’t selling them over here in the United States?

A: 1: Looking back, a four door Ranger would have been in direct competion with the Sport Trac.
2: Going forward, the Ranger is being discontinued in the States.

Q: My 1992 ford rangers radiator hose coming from the block back to the radiator is collapsing, what could cause?
When the truck is running and gets hot, the radiator hose from the block to the radiator on top, it seems to be collapsing or sucking and acting like it is clogged somewhere. What could this be?
If it is the hose, will it hurt anything to leave it on for a day or so? Plus I just topped it off with coolant.

A: thats ok if it is cold shouldent do that hot

Q: What would be the best way to increase a ford Rangers hauling capacity?
upgrade or switch out suspension, add a duallie rearend, beef up frame maybe all of the above how much difference could you make?

A: You can make quite a difference with all the above. It just depends on how much you’re willing to spend.

Don’t forget that when you increase the payload mass, you’ll probably also have to look at increasing the engine/trans horsepower, engine/trans mounts and frame attachments and the propshaft.

When you’re done figuring how much this will cost and the time to do it right, you may consider a used Silverado or F150…

Q: What refrigerant was used in 1998 Ford Rangers?
With summer approaching, I’m considering recharging my air conditioning with R134A, but I’m not positive that is what my truck used originally. The AC has been out for a couple of years now so I’ll probably have to check all the seals, etc. Any advice on what to keep my eye out for and what the proper refrigerant would be is appreciated. Thanks.

A: r134a refrigerant fittings only fits onto systems that use it.

Q: Why has my ford rangers mileage dropped so much?
Back when i got the truck like 3 months ago, it got like 20-21 mpg. Now im lucky to get 16 mpg. Is there a module that i could put on it to improve mileage, or is there any kind of fluid i can put into the gas tank to improve mileage.

A: the most common reason for poor gas mileage in an otherwise healthy vehicle is a dirty air filter.

Q: What kind of gas mileage do newer 2.3L Ford Rangers get? ?
I’m talking about the newer ‘03 and later automatic 2.3L Rangers with the 4 cylinder engine. My old ‘95 Ranger gets about 22 mpg highway and I’d like to upgrade to a newer model, but only if it gets better mileage like in the 25-26 mpg range.

A: The ‘03 with manual will get 21 mpg / 26 mpg
The ‘03 with automatic will get 20 mpg / 25 mpg

So, when are you going to upgrade?

Q: Why do some ford rangers have sideways back seats?
Also, can you move them to face forwards? Is this a package of some sort, or is their a name for this type of seating? Is it for a specific model or anything? Any details on it could help.

A: Ranger isn’t big enough for 4 forward facing seats, you’d literally have to have no legs. To fix that, Ford’s rather ingenious solution is to place the seats sideways.

Ranger is available in Regular Cab, the front seat only model, and Super Cab in both 2 and 4 door varieties. Super Cab Rangers are available with the jumpseats.
