Q: What is the difference between a Toyota Tacoma Prerunner and a Toyota Tacoma?
The prerunner is lifted and has a few other details, but is there any difference between the two in the cab or anything? Can you make a tacoma into a prerunner easily?

A: Prerunner models are all 2 Wheel Drive but have the ride height and suspension of the 4WD model. They’re a waste of money.

Q: How much days can a Tacoma student miss school?
I’m in high school and planning to miss school for about a week. The problem is i already missed it for some days. Is there a limit to how much days a tacoma high schooler can miss?

A: No! But you will have to catch up in alot of work! Don’t miss school! You may get suspended! This may go on your permanent record if you miss more then six days in a row!

Q: What speaker sizes fit in a 2008 toyota tacoma 4×2 access cab?
Is the front speakers 6×9 and the back 6 and a half? I was looking at crutchfield, and they say that 6×9 is not compatible for a tacoma. Anyone have any experience with tacoma audio?

A: I never cared much for Crutchfields info. They are not always accurate. They are more interested in making the sell.
Go to www.metraonline.com
Enter your info in the what fits my vehicle section. They will show you everything you need including kit and harness’. Sometimes you have to make slight modifications to the mounting locations considering the factory has their speakers made for their vehicles and aftermarkets are universal fit but the size is right.

Q: Who is a good realtor in tacoma washington for military buyers?
I am moving to Fort Lewis very soon and would like to buy a house in the Tacoma, Spanaway, Puyallup area? We are planning on using a VA loan to purchase the house, so a military friendly realtor near fort lewis is what we REALLY need. Any past buyers with good experiences out there?

A: Just about any that work at John L. Scott, Windermere, Century 21 in that area should be well versed in the VA home buying process since it is so close to Fort Lewis. I’m more partial to John L. Scott, but then I work there ; )

You might browse their wesbites & look at agent profiles to see if any specialize in just that field.

Q: What is the difference between a Toyota Tacoma sr5 and prerunner?
What is the difference between a tacoma sr5 and a prerunner? I’ve seen a few very different looking tacomas, and there is one I like but don’t know what exactly it is. Pretty much any information about these trucks would be appreciated.

A: Hi,

for Toyota, the SR5 designation is a certain level of trim which varies somewhat depending on which vehicle it is on and what model year the vehicle is (the Tacoma is one of the vehicles Toyota offers the SR5 trim on, the Tundra would be one of the others).

Usually, SR5 includes options such as power windows and locks, keyless entry, cruise control air conditioning, single CD player and some type of upgraded interior. There may also be additional body moldings and those may be in color and a different rim/tire combination.

A PreRunner simply means the Tacoma has a 6 cylinder engine, but it is only rear-wheel drive.

PreRunners are not 4WD and are not available with a 4 cylinder engine.

The PreRunner will have a larger tire/rim combination like a 4WD model.

Prerunners usually have an SR5 trim package and may come in regular or extended cab configurations, depending on the model year.

Prerunners are easily identified by the Prerunner badging on the tailgate, or if that has been removed, by the absence of a 4WD shifter/turn dial in the interior of the cab.

A Tacoma may have the SR5 trim and may be a regular or extended cab, but be a 4 cylinder, 2WD or 4WD model.

Q: How much would it cost to get toyota tacoma completely fitted out approximately?
Might be getting a toyota tacoma 1997-2003, 4×4, with extended cab. How much would it cost to get it completely fitted out im talkin 3 inc lift, swamper tires, winch, toolbox, all the good stuff. Even if i got everything the cheapest i could give me an approximate.(also i would like more suggestions for wat to get those are just things off the top of my head.

A: You should probably check the frame to make sure it’s not rusting in half like Tacoma’s do, before you go getting it “outfitted” with “swamper tires” and a lift kit.

Q: What are the best modifications for a 99 toyota tacoma?
I just bought a ‘99 Toyota Tacoma with the TRD package. Can anyone tell me what some good modifications are as far as air intakes, headers, etc.? I’m especially looking for people who have already done these modifications and what kind of gains they got from them.

A: I don’t have a Tacoma but I had a T-100 and I have a 2001 Tundra that I bought new, Both of these trucks were used to deliver Mail I put the equivalent of 380,000 miles on the T-100 and then I bought the Tundra and I put the equivalent 500,000 miles on it. These are not real mills but are taken from a clock in either case both vehicles were operated for under $1000 for a 4 year period of time each, before them I drove Fords and my cost of keeping them on the road was between $12,000 and $18,000 for a like amount of time only not going as far, more like 340,000 for the four year time frame. It is yours and your choice but if I was you I would keep it just the way it is. I drove 24 new Fords before I bought my first Toyota and now I wouldn’t let you park one in my drive way.

Edit note; I wish that Fords were near as good but I am sorry they just aren’t, I counted on my truck to earn a living

Q: What is the best car seat for the Toyota Tacoma extended cab truck?
My husband has a Tacoma and we are looking to buy a second carseat, a rear facing/non carrier carseat, for his truck. Which has the smaller backseat. I currently have the Britax Diplomat in my car and love it but it seems to take up a lot of space in my car, so I’m not so sure it will work so great in his truck. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what carseats to are best as far as safety and fit for such a small space.

What do you do in them? How many hours is it? What do you do in order to sign up to participate in the community services? Can you do it with your MESA team?

Q: What can I do to advertise my business in the Tacoma and Seattle area that really works on a small budget?
I have three business locations in Tacoma and Seattle, WA and I need to stay ahead of the competition. I’ve tried radio, newspapers and direct mail (ValPak and MoneyMailer) but they are ridiculously expensive for the few customers each has directed to me so I want to try something new. Is there anything better out there?

A: How about running coupons on the back of the register tapes in your local grocery store? I am actually the Tacoma rep for a company that works with all of the Safeways in the Puget Sound. This form of advertising really works at getting more customers through your door, and it doesn’t cost nearly the price of traditional media. I have numerous clients who are redeeming 10-15 coupons a day with our program. Definitely consider this form of advertising. It gets new customers into your store and existing customers into your store more often. Email me if you would like more info. Good luck!

Q: How can I make a 2002 tacoma go fast?
I have a 3.4L 2002 4door toyota tacoma, I want to make it go very fast, i put K&N cold-air intake on it but i dont notice much of a difference other than my check engine light is now on all the time. I have about a 500 dollar/month budget. So i can’t get everything at once probably.

A: First clean your MAF. It’s probably full of oil.

Then do some research on supercharging your Tacoma.

Q: How do I get anywhere with a complaint against a Toyota Tacoma rusty frame?
My 2005 Toyota Tacoma with 55k miles has a rusty looking frame. It is not rusted through, just really ugly start for a 3-4 year old truck. I called Toyota and checked for recall with my Vin# and nothing was recalled. They told me to go to a dealer and have them check it out. Any advice on what I can do in adition to this?

A: Go to a dealer and have them check it out.

Q: How do I find out more about public transportation in Tacoma, Washington?
My little sister moved to Tacoma for college and it’s a state I’ve never visited. She wont have a car and is living off campus with her boyfriend. He says he will be able to drive her but I think it’s good to have a backup plan- just in case. How do I find bus routes for Tacoma online? Are the buses reliable there? How much does it cost?

A: I’ve been taking Pierce Transit buses for about 5 years now, I’d say they’re pretty reliable, usually good about being on time. The current fare for adults is $1.75, or $63 for a one month pass.

All the route information is on http://www.piercetransit.org/, like the person above said.

Q: what is the best combination for a sound system in a toyota tacoma truck?
Im getting a toyota tacoma, and im wanting to put a sound system in it, with good quality sound. Im wondering what type and what size speakers i should get and what amp to go along with it?

A: If you’re new to car audio, you probably dont know something that you should. JL Audio makes the best of everything. Speakers, amps, subs, crossovers, EVERYTHING. It all depends on how much you want to spend.

I’d go with some nice 10″ subs to go underneath the seats or behind the rear seats. JL w3s are VERY good speakers. You could get a nice $150 alpine deck and a kenwood amp for around $500 total.

email me with questions
good luck
